Two Sisters. Two Inspiring Journeys.
From Students to Leaders
Maryma and her sister, Mariny, grew up in the EYC community, where they had the chance to learn, lead, and thrive. Their stories demonstrate how the right support can unlock the potential of young people and inspire impactful contributions—both for their own futures and the betterment of their communities. EYC has been a vital partner in providing the opportunities, resources, and encouragement that have shaped their remarkable journeys.
Maryma’s Path to Success
Maryma began her journey with EYC as a student in September 2017. She quickly distinguished herself through her strong determination, leadership abilities, and commitment to personal growth. During her time as a student, Maryma actively engaged in various programs and showed particular passion for sports and community development. After earning her bachelor’s degree in administration, she returned to EYC as a staff member in May 2021, leading the Sports Program and supporting the operations of one of EYC’s community centers. There, she inspired many students to develop key skills such as teamwork, discipline, and self-confidence.
Maryma’s dedication and leadership have consistently earned recognition at EYC. Building on this solid foundation, she recently advanced her career by joining CEVA International Logistics, a global leader in supply chain management, as an Airfreight Operations Officer. In this position, Maryma utilizes her organizational and administrative skills in a fast-paced international environment, marking a significant milestone in her professional development.
Mariny’s Exceptional Achievement
Following in her sister’s footsteps, Mariny has forged her own inspiring path. Last year, she achieved a Grade A in her Grade 12 exam—a truly exceptional accomplishment for a Cambodian student, especially one from a challenging background. This outstanding result reflected her hard work, discipline, and determination. Mariny is majoring in Khmer Literature at university and speaks English at an advanced level.
Mariny is currently preparing to apply for the She Can Scholarship, a program that offers young girls the opportunity to pursue higher education in the United States and develop their future leadership potential.
