2020 Impact Report

2020 was a year that tested us all, and while certain parts of the world are starting to experience some relief from the pandemic, the situation in Cambodia is only worsening.

The conditions over this last year have required that we act not only in our capacity as a development organization focused on creating pathways out of poverty for our students through education and opportunities but also as a humanitarian organization responding to the acute needs in our communities.

While the challenges have been significant over the last year, I am very proud of how the team has pivoted to address these dual responsibilities and kept EYC moving forward. In addition to providing increased social work and humanitarian support and keeping students engaged in their learning via homework packets and online classes during school closures, we broadened programming and moved forward with new STEM initiatives – all during a global pandemic!

Today, I am happy to share our 2020 Impact Report, which will walk you through some highlights, stories, metrics, and reflections on a most unusual year.

In closing, I want to acknowledge that one of the reasons we were able to forge ahead despite the unprecedented challenges of 2020 was because we never felt alone. Our global family, of which you are a part, showed great compassion, kindness, and generosity, all of which helped to keep our spirits buoyed and our focus on the wellbeing of our students and their families.

I am grateful to every one of our donors, partners, volunteers, and friends who invest in creating meaningful and transformational change in the lives of our students and communities.

Delphine Vann

EYC Managing Director
