Canadian International School Raising Money to Support EYC Families in Need
When we say that our partner organizations are partners in the truest sense of the word, we really mean it! The Canadian International School (CIS) of Phnom Penh has demonstrated their investment in and commitment to EYC’s students and communities since they first engaged with us in 2018. Over the last couple of years, CIS has not only donated money raised through their Dress Down Days, but they have conducted numerous professional development workshops with our teaching staff to enhance curriculum and instruction techniques.
Currently, they are hosting a fundraiser for our communities in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Recognizing the factors that make our communities particularly vulnerable during this time – lack of access to healthcare, hygiene, and medical resources along with the loss of wages and/or jobs – CIS is raising funds to feed and support students’ families most in need for the next few months.
Our team is in the process of interviewing families to assess needs so that we deploy the funds efficiently and effectively, and we anticipate that funds will be used to purchase food, essential hygiene items, medical supplies, and provide rent support.
CIS is not only raising money but also awareness of the plight faced by our communities, and we are so grateful for their partnership during this difficult time.
